Dr. Obeid was Resident in Medicine at the New York State Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and an Associate in Medicine at the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. He did his Fellowship in Cardiology at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY

He is presently Clinical Professor of Medicine at the SUNY Upstate Medical University, Director of Echocardiography, Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Lecturer in the Program in Medical Humanities, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and in private practice Cardiology with the NY Heart Center in Syracuse, NY.

Professional Associations include American Federation for Clinical Research, American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology, American Heart Association Council on Circulation, American Medical Association, American Society of Echocardiography, International Cardiac Doppler Society, New York State Medical Society, Lebanese Order of Physicians, New York Academy of Sciences, and a Fellow, American College of Cardiology.
