This
presentation will provide the participants a comprehensive overview of Pulmonary
Artery Catheters. The overview will enable participants to have a better
understanding and appreciation of this device as it relates to pulmonary care in
the acute setting.
Objectives:

given a PA catheter be able to identify each of its component parts and
explain the significance /purpose/ function obtained from each part.

the process and concept of measuring cardiac output iv thermodilution.
Identify hazards.

Draw
and explain waveforms that correlate with the advancement of the PA
catheter.

Describe
“wedge” pressure, and steps involved in measurement of pressures and
interpretation of waveforms. |
