Leslie J. Kohman, MD

            

Professor of Thoracic Surgery
Upstate Medical University

    Dr. Leslie Kohman earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University. She did a residency in General Surgery at the Guthrie Clinic and Robert Packer Hospital, and a Thoracic Residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She has been on the faculty of Upstate Medical University since 1985.  She is director and founder of University Hospital’s Thoracic Oncology Program (TOP), which provides lung cancer patients with a comprehensive evaluation and treatment recommendation in one visit.  She also maintains an active clinical research program, participating in trials of the New York Early Lung Cancer Action Project, the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group, and the Cancer and Leukemia Group B where she has held major leadership positions.  She has also worked extensively with the National Cancer Institute.
