Paul Selecky, MD, FACP, FAARC, FCCP

            

Dr. Selecky is Medical Director of the Pulmonary Department and Sleep Disorders Center at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, California, and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine.  Dr. Selecky was born and raised in northeast Pennsylvania, and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He did his post-graduate training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, where he served on the faculty until transferring to Hoag Hospital in 1979.

Dr. Selecky is also the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Hoag Hospital.  He has lectured widely on various aspects of Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and has published chapters on sexuality in respiratory care in three major textbooks, as well as a patient education brochure that is distributed by the American Lung Association. Dr. Selecky is also co-author of a Position Statement for the California Thoracic Society on sleep in patients with lung disease. He was given the Outstanding Clinician Award by the American Thoracic Society in 2003.
