Dr. Berkowitz received his bachelor’s degree in Biology/
Psychology in 1968 at The New York University in Bronx, New York, then following
that he continued his education and received his Master’s Degree in
Cellular-Molecular Biology at Hunter College of CUNY in 1976, continued on
complete his PhD in Cellular-Molecular Biology in 1981 at the University of
California- Davis, and then receiving his M.D. at Yale University School of
Medicine in New Haven, CT.
Dr. Berkowitz’s Post-Graduate training started in 1977 as
a Research Associate in Biological Sciences at The University of California-
Davis. Then he went on to complete his residency and Cardiology Fellowship at
Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has received many Honors and Awards for
teaching and research.
He
is presently Director of The Heart Failure Program, at Hackensack University
Medical Center in New Jersey. He is currently in private practice at The
Heart/Lung Center in Hackensack, New Jersey.
