A
native of Boulder, Colorado, he received his undergraduate and Medical Degrees
at The University of Colorado. He completed his residency training at
Philadelphia General Hospital, The University of Michigan, and at The University
of Colorado School of Medicine.
His
contributions to Pulmonary and critical care medicine can easily fill volumes
and volumes of books!! He has received numerous awards and honors through out
his career. He has written and edited extensively.
He
is currently on The Board for the National Emphysema Foundation and also The
Pulmonary Education and Research Foundation, which he was President from 1990 to
1993.
He
serves on the Editorial Boards of Post Graduate Medicine and Current
Opinion in Pulmonary Medicine.
He
is Professor of Medicine and Anesthesiology at The University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center and Professor of Medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's
Medical Center in Chicago.
